Eleanor Brown (Dancer) will be attending classes online this fall at Spokane Falls Community College. In her eleven years of dance, she has trained in ballet, modern and flamenco and has been working with Spokane Ballet Studio for three years. Her favorite dance credits are Tall Angel and Soldier in The Nutcracker (State Street Ballet) and Flamenco Dancer in 12 Minutes Max (Quieri Flamenco). Aside from dance, Eleanor has received many awards for her performances in Slam Poetry. She stays involved with her community by fostering animals and teaching ballet to children at Soul Studios. Other hobbies include reading, writing, dancing and caring for animals.
Andy-Lee Collings (David Bascombe/Ensemble) is excited to be back on Civic’s Main Stage after performing in last season’s Merrily We Roll Along. Other recent credits include Zeke in The Wizard of Oz, Constable Joe in Tuck Everlasting and choreographer for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (all with Spokane Children’s Theater). When not on stage you can find him writing a play or two, in the recording studio with his producers, or taking a nap.
Wesley Deitrick (Starkeeper) has been directing and acting over 40 years around the country in both stage and film. Some favorite directing assignments in Spokane include The Mousetrap, Shakespeare In Hollywood, Of Mice and Men, and The Foreigner. Some favorite roles include Richard M. Nixon in Frost/Nixon, Lyman Wyatt in Other Desert Cities, Albert Soady in Escanaba In Da Moonlight. Since 2003, Spokane has been Wes’ home where he is blessed by family – wife, Kristen and their two teenage daughters, Nicole and May.
Jack Dines (Ensemble) is excited to be making his Civic debut in Carousel! He was awarded the “Excellence Performance” award from Washington State Thespians Festival and is currently taking advanced theatre and choir at John R Rogers High School. His recent roles are Sir Studley in Once Upon a Mattress, Roger Hopewell in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and Bill Austin in Mamma Mia (all with RHS). Offstage Jack is still working in music with his band The Light From Downstairs. He mainly plays bass guitar but has taught himself to play guitar and is working on learning piano and drums.
Carolina Bufford (Ensemble) is a trained contemporary and ballet dancer at Jubilee Dance. Her recent credits include Miss Grisby in A Christmas Carol, Maria Martini in It’s A Wonderful Life, Elf in A Christmas Story The Musical (all with Civic) and Mary in Modern Mary (PALIKŪ Theatre). “You are loved! Jameson Elton (Jigger Craigin/Carnival Boy) is ecstatic for his next production at Spokane Civic Theatre. Recent Civic roles include JD in Heather The Musical, Skimbleshanks in CATS and Venticelli in Amadeus. He has trained in dance and ballet since middle school and has been taking singing lessons since he was nine years old. “Special thanks to my family and to my Elizabeth for always supporting me.”
Sydney Frost (Dancer) is an accomplished ballet dancer and Poetry OutLoud performer. She has trained in ballet for 14 years along with other styles such as modern, contemporary, jazz, flamenco, and musical theater. She has had the opportunity to audition and perform in State Street Ballet and Spokane Symphony’s The Nutcracker for 7 years performing as Small Angel, Soldier and Tall Angel. Along with her The Nutcracker performances, another favorite role is Ballerina Dove/Ensemble in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Mt. Spokane High School Theater). In her free time Sydney enjoys writing and hopes to be a published writer.
Jude Hood (Snow Child) When not on stage he enjoys playing basketball and participating in youth group. Jude loves music and is currently learning to play the ukulele. He takes voice lessons with Dennis Craig and has participated in a variety of classes and summer camps with Civic Education and Spokane Valley Summer Theatre. His favorite credits include Young Tarzan in Tarzan, Winthrop Paroo in The Music Man (both with Spokane Children’s Theater) and Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol (Civic) “I love being on stage and I hope to be in more shows this season!”
Nathan Hoyt (Enoch Snow) is glad to be back on stage at Civic after performing in She Loves Me as Ladislav Sipos and Jersey Boys as Nick Massi. He received a degree in Music Education from Eastern Washington University where he also received a Meritorious Award from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for Music Direction for Heathers The Musical. Other favorite credits include music director for Wanda’s World (Civic Academy), assistant music director and aux. keys for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Ensemble in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (both with Civic). In his free time he enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons and hosting fighting game tournaments.
Robby French (Billy Bigelow) is ecstatic to return to the Civic stage in such an iconic role. He was last seen on this stage as Enjolras in Les Misérables in 2013, and with The Spokane Symphony in Concert. He has been acting locally and regionally for over 25 years. He earned a BroadwayWorld Best Actor nomination for his role as Roger Davis in RENT and Guy in Once at The Public Theatre SA. National Tours / Film T.V. : The Complete Works…Abridged! , All My Children, Law and Order: SVU, Dante’s Peak, and Amazing Grace. He has performed 5 seasons with the Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre. Other favorite roles include Jesus (JC Superstar) , Jerry (The Full Monty), Jamie (The Last Five Years), Gabe ( Next To Normal) and Berger in Hair. Robby is a professional actor and proud union member on hiatus with AEA, The Actor’s Equity Association. Graduate of AMDA and NYCDA in New York City, with a B.F.A. from New School University. Delaney Kahler (Ensemble) is a Washington based performing artist, choreographer, and writer. She graduated from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle earning her degree in Musical Theatre with an Original Works emphasis. Recent acting credits include Once: The Musical and Bertha in Pippin at Cornish, and Dusty in POTUS at Civic. Recent choreography credits include Heathers, Xanadu Jr., and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee here at Civic, Once: The Musical at Cornish, as well as a workshop production with Broadway producer Kenny Alhadeff. Delaney is absolutely thrilled to be back on the Civic stage and would like to express her gratitude to the Civic community for their warm welcome back!

Karlin Marie Kahler (Julie Jordan) could not be more honored to bring this enduring classic to the Civic stage. This has been a long time dream role for Karlin. At first because of the wonderful score, and later in life because of the complicated and beautiful story. You may have seen Karlin in Heathers The Musical as Heather Chandler, in CATS as Demeter, and in Cabaret as Fraulein Kost (all at Civic). Outside of Civic she has portrayed Johanna in Sweeney Todd, and a Phantom in The Rocky Horror Show at Stage Left. At the Lilac City Dinner Theatre Karlin appeared as Bunny Lingus in Saucy Jack and The Space Vixens and Jessica in Women Playing Hamlet. In addition to performing, Karlin works as Costume Associate at Civic and is also proud to be a member of the teaching staff for Civic’s educational programs and loves helping young artists discover their craft. Karlin so enjoys performing along side three of her younger sisters. She sincerely hopes you enjoy your ride on the Carousel.

His favorite credits include Colin in The Secret Garden (TAC), Jayce Squires in The Music Man, Friedrich Von Trapp in The Sound of Music (both with Spokane Children’s Theater) and Sid in Tom Sawyer (Civic Academy).
Mary Ormsby (Ensemble) is happy to be on the Civic stage after performing as Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me last season. Her favorite roles include Baby Duckling in Honk! (Spokane Children’s Theater), Fred’s Daughter/Street Urchin in Scrooge, Ensemble in The Wizard of Oz and Ensemble in Jersey Boys (all with Civic). “Thank you to my family for always being there for me! Wren Rhodes (Ensemble) was seen last season in Civic’s The Addams Family and She Loves Me. They have ten years of dance and two years of vocal training, showcasing their skills by placing first in tap dance and vocal competitions. During the day they work as the general manager for Dreams Are Forever Events, a party princess company serving Spokane/Coeur D’Alene area.

Heather Parker (Nettie Fowler) Described by Opera News as “radiating glamour, both vocally and physically,” soprano Heather Parker was born and raised in Spokane, but has captivated audiences of opera, operetta and musical theatre alike, on stages all over the country. She has performed leading roles with Seattle Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Opera North, Utah Symphony and Alice Tully Hall in New York’s Lincoln Center, to name a few, but she is thrilled to be performing the role of Nettie in the very theatre and with the same director who gave her her first role at age 9 in Civic’s 1984 production of Annie directed by Jean Hardie! It is a true FULL CIRCLE moment to be singing here 40 years later in the same theatre that ignited her love for performing! Heather currently resides in Spokane with her husband and two daughters, teaching private voice lessons and is the owner and photographer of Grace & Belle Photography. She graduated from both Whitworth University and The Eastman School of Music in NY.

Hailey Stroh (Louise Bigelow/Ensemble) has been training in ballet, and other types of dance such as jazz, character and modern, since the age of three. Currently serving as ASB Secretary for Ridgeline High School, Hailey stays busy with the National Honor Society, competing and serving as Miss Washington Jr. through the International Junior Miss pageant system, competing in the HOSA competition by sharing the effects of fentanyl on families and serving her community by working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, My Very Own Blanket, and several food banks. Recent theatrical credits include Lady Larken in Once Upon a Mattress, Glinda in The Wizard of Oz and Ballet Winnie in Tuck Everlasting (all with Ridgeline High School).
Joshua Stroh (Snow Child) is excited to make his theatrical debut! He loves baseball, football, video games, doing flips on a trampoline, boating, tubing, swimming, biking, camping and escape rooms. Joshua is also a boy scout, currently working towards becoming an Eagle Scout.
Maycie Stroh (Snow Child) enjoys being active in her community, currently serving as President of her church young women’s class and volunteering at North Bridge Food Bank and at a rehabilitation center for cats. Previously she served in student council for two consecutive years and served as IJM Miss Washington Jr. Pre-Teen from 2021-2022. Last summer she participated in CYT and Spokane Valley Summer Theatre acting camps. When not in the community, Maycie likes to paint, draw, bake and sing. “My motto in life is to ‘Scatter Sunshine’ as I serve my community and those around me.”
Becky Soth (Ensemble) is delighted to return to the musical theatre stage after many years away and to be a part of her first show at the Civic. Becky studied music and theatre at the University of Oregon, sang for 15 years with the Oregon Repertory Singers and currently sings with the Spokane Symphony Chorale. Among her favorite roles are Luisa in The Fantasticks and Hope in Anything Goes.
Elizabeth Theriault (Carrie Pipperidge) is so honored to be in this beautiful and moving production with such a talented cast. You may have seen her last on stage at Civic as Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys, favorite credits at Civic include Wendla in Spring Awakening, and Jessica Goldberg in This Is Our Youth. She’d like to deeply thank Jean and Kathie for this amazing opportunity to play Carrie Pipperidge, a longtime dream role of hers. Mirsa Wells (Ensemble)‘s love for acting began when she was in her freshmen year of high school. Her first role was as a super fan of the Pharaoh’s in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. From then on she participated in any Fall musical and Spring play that she could. From roles like Dina in School House Rock to the Sugar Plum Fairy in Shrek the Musical, Mirsa loved each role. After high school Mirsa went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Science and her Master’s in Biomedical Science at Midwestern University. After a ten-year absence, Mirsa is excited to be able to perform in musicals again!
Desirae West (Mrs. Mullin/Ensemble) is delighted to be making her Civic debut in this show! She holds a BFA in musical theatre from the University of Montana. Josh White (Enoch Snow Jr.) is no stranger to the Civic stage, his favorite roles being Joe Pesci in Jersey Boys, Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Dromio of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors and Mungojerrie in CATS. Josh is currently taking voice lessons with Steve Mortier and is in his sophomore year at Lewis and Clark High School. He wishes to pursue musical theatre professionally.
Isabelle Williams (Snow Child) has been in a number of shows at Civic. Her favorite was when she played Jim Hawkins in Treasure Island during the summer Civic Education production 2023. She just started middle school at St. George’s.
Emery Winkle (Snow Child) was last onstage at Civic as a Munchkin during The Wizard of Oz. Currently in 7th grade, part of the founding class at the Rubén Trejo Dual Language Academy, she enjoys having half her classes in Spanish and being part of the leadership team. In her spare time she also enjoys reading and spending time with my family and friends.
Sydney Zinnecker (Dancer) is a recent Gonzaga graduate and is excited to participate in her second Civic production after her first experience in CATS! She dances professionally with Vytal Movement Dance Company here in town, and she also works as an Admissions and Registration Specialist at Spokane Community College and a Dance Costume Coordinator for the Gonzaga University Dance Program.
Jean Hardie (Director) is very excited to be directing Civic’s first production of Carousel since 1985! Jean has been actively involved at Spokane Civic Theatre since moving here in 1981. She has acted in, directed and choreographed many, many shows over the years, but is probably best known as Mother Superior in Nunsense. She was the director of the Box ‘n’ Hat Players for 20 years, directed the Civic Summer Program for 14 years, has had several plays accepted for Civic’s annual Playwrights Forum and is a Civic Theatre Lifetime Achievement recipient. Most recently she directed Merrily We Roll Along, co-directed Jersey Boys and played the role of Old Deuteronomy in CATS. She fervently hopes that you will embrace the beauty, the tragedy, the lightness, the darkness and the most beautiful musical score of this classic musical.
Henry McNulty (Music Director, Conductor) is a pianist, conductor, music director, and composer based in Spokane, Washington. He serves as on-staff Music Director of Spokane Civic Theatre (2017-present), playing and/or conducting such works as Follies, West Side Story, and Songs for a New World, alongside music directing for other regional venues such as Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre. As a performer, his onstage credits include Jerry Lee Lewis (Million Dollar Quartet), Smudge (Forever Plaid), and Robert (Boeing Boeing) among others. Henry holds a BM and MFA in Music Composition.
Kathie Doyle-Lipe (Choreographer) has been involved with Spokane Civic Theatre for nearly 40 years! In addition to being a Resident Director, she also was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award and First Place for Choreography at ACCTFest National. She also earned other local awards including Best Of Spokane for both acting and directing. Most recently Kathie directed and choreographed She Loves Me, The Wizard of Oz, Matilda The Musical, Elf The Musical, and A Christmas Story: The Musical at Civic. Onstage she performed as the Stage Manager in The Play That Goes Wrong, the show that opened Civic’s “Welcome Back” Season in January 2022 after its extended closure. Kathie would like to thank her incredible crew, amazing cast and dedicated parents for all their help, time and hard work.
Sarah Glesk (Ballet Choreographer) is a dance educator, choreographer, and dancer from Spokane, WA. She has been a dance adjunct faculty member at Gonzaga University since 2013 and Whitworth University since 2018. Additionally, Sarah is a dance instructor at Spokane Ballet Studio and Artistry Motion, and guest teaches summer intensives at several studios throughout Spokane. Her areas of expertise include ballet, pointe, contemporary/modern, jazz, dance conditioning, and choreography. Sarah earned a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts, graduating Cum Laude in 2006, where she performed in such works as Martha Graham’s Diversion of Angels. Her professional dance experience includes performing with companies Zoe Scofield and Juniper Shuey, Alloy Dance Project, Serendip, and Vytal Movement. Sarah also co-founded the CanCan Castaways where she performed and choreographed for the Seattle-based cabaret dinner theater. She has notable choreographic features in Rising Tide, Gonzaga’s annual Spring Dance Concert, Spokane Film Project, 50 Hour Slam, and multiple music videos. Currently, Sarah is excited to be working on several projects which include choreographing the ballet in the musical Carousel for the Spokane Civic Theatre, opening in September 2024. As well as creating a spooky ballet piece for Kindling Dance Production’s Ghostlight, an immersive experience set in the historic Glover Mansion, offering a theatrical dance journey through its haunted halls this October 2024. Sarah is also choreographing a new work for this season’s Rising Tide: a collaborative evening of professional dance co-produced by Kindling Productions and Spokane Civic Theater that will be presented in January 2025. In 2023, Sarah participated in the first production of Rising Tide, a self-produced show featuring five local female choreographers. She choreographed an original work After Hours which she performed in, as well as Poeta choreographed by Monica Mota. In the spring of 2023, Sarah directed the Gonzaga ACDA companies, where she set a piece that was presented at the American College Dance Association conference in Salt Lake City, UT. In addition, Sarah received training through the Mark Morris Dance Group Outreach Program to teach Dance for Parkinson’s classes. When Sarah is not choreographing, teaching, or dancing, she loves gardening, cleaning, and spending time with her family and friends!
Nicole Deitrick (Stage Manager) is making her stage management debut with Carousel! She has worked on and off stage in a variety of roles at the theatre. Her favorite Civic credits are backstage crew for Heathers The Musical, props lead for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Ensemble in Elf The Musical and Flower Girl in My Fair Lady.
Kelsie Mauer (Assistant Stage Manager) spends her days working at Washington Trust Bank. Her favorite Civic backstage credits include crew for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Beauty and the Beast, Evil Dead the Musical and stage manager for Cactus Flower.
Janice Abramson (Producer) has been involved with the Spokane Civic Theatre family since the summer of 1975. Since then she has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at Civic and the Individual Arts Contribution Award from the Spokane Arts Commission. Janice also works full-time for Spokane Public Schools and part-time for Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club. She is very excited to be back at the theatre. “I want to thank my family and friends for being there for me.”
Peter Rossing (Scenic Design) first designed and painted for the Civic with CATS last season. He has designed sets for theater, opera, dance, and corporate events in Portland, Austin and traveling productions. Favorite projects included A View from the Bridge for Portland Repertory Theatre, The Importance of Being Earnest for New Rose Theatre (Portland), On the Verge for Different Stages Co. in Austin, and A Comedy of Errors on Austin’s Zilker Park Stage. In recent years, Peter has focused on graphic design, arts marketing, and entrepreneurial projects including founding and operating an art supply store in Portland.
Jamie L. Suter (Costume Design) holds a BA in Theater Design and Technical Production with concentrations in Costume Design and Directing from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, studying under Broadway professionals Gail Brassard, Liz Covey, and Bob Anton. Notable credits include Costume Design for The Wonder!: A Woman Keeps a Secret (T. Schreiber Studio), Assistant to the Costume Designer for Sweeney Todd (Avery Fisher Hall), Assistant Costume Designer for The Lucky Chance (Theresa Lang Theater), Director/Costume Designer for Seven Femmes (Rathskeller Studios), and Costume Designer for The Lost Cabaret (NYC Fringe Festival). Jamie joined the Civic staff in 2018, her first design on stage being Present Laughter in the Studio Theatre. She loves being part of the fun and frivolity of live theater and is incredibly happy to do that at her home away from home, Spokane Civic Theatre.
Bryan D. Durbin (Lighting Design) has a BA in theatre and is very excited to be back as Civic’s master electrician and lighting designer following the long hiatus. “I want to thank my family Heather, Evie, and Abby for all of their support.”
Dawn Taylor-Reinhardt (Intimacy Coordinator) returned to the stage for the first time in 9 years as Renfield in last season’s Dracula. An accomplished talent agent, acting coach, director and stage manager, Dawn is happy to bring the important work of intimacy coordinating to the Spokane theater community.
Rick Taylor (Sound Engineer and Board Operator) is excited to be back in the sound booth for Carousel after working sound for the musical revue Beat by Beat and last season’s Alice by Heart.
Jaden Durbin (Light Board Operator) is excited to be back behind the light board after working on Merrily We Roll Along at Civic earlier this year. Other favorite credits include assistant stage manager and rigging operator for Anything Goes, flying operator for Mary Poppins (both with CVHS Theater) and stage tech for Silverwood Theme Park’s “Scarywood” show “Dillusion,” Jaden has also completed CTE Technical Theater levels 1-4.
Jobie Lynch (Projections Operator) is recent high school graduate, graduating with honors and with an AA degree through the Running Start program. She started her theatre journey onstage before falling in love with technical theatre. After having the responsibility of stage manager with the Central Valley High School Theatre Department for the last few years, she is excited to get her foot in the door of community theatre here in Spokane. Her favorite credits include stage manager for Nunsense, Anything Goes, Mary Poppins (all with CVHS Theater) and Magician Assistant for the popular Silverwood Theme Park show “Phantasm.”
Lily Johnson (Backstage Crew) is excited to be working on the Main Stage at Civic! Their recent Civic credits include Businessman in The Little Prince, Captain Smolett in Treasure Island, Lendall/Marci in Almost, Maine and Fabina in Twelfth Night (all with Civic Academy).
Joshua Baig (Carpenter) is a graduate of the Eastern Washington University Theatre department and Spokane Falls Community College Theatre. Recent favorite credits include Paul Roms in Important Hats of the Twentieth Century (Upstart Players) and Sebastian in The Tempest (EWU Theatre). Last season Josh made his Civic directorial debut with Civic Academy’s The Comedy of Errors. He is excited to follow that up with directing Romeo and Juliet on the Main Stage in 2025.
Denny Pham (Carpenter) is a local actor and the Technical Director for Spokane Civic Theatre. He holds a BA in Theatre from Eastern Washington University in Acting (Stanislavsky, Michael Chekhov and Shakespeare), and Technical Theatre with focus in Scenic Design and Lighting. He was awarded a Merit of Acting from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for his role as Doctor Nemur in Flowers for Algernon. He is a technical theatre veteran with 10 years of experience working professionally and locally in over 115 productions both on and off stage. Jessii Arp (Wardrobe) earned a BA in Theatre Arts and Music from Western Washington University and currently works in Spokane Public Schools. Favorite credits include directing James and the Giant Peach Jr. (Civic Academy), Alice in You Can’t Take It With You (Civic), Tansey McGinnis in The Nerd (Lake City Playhouse) and Susan in Company (Mt. Baker Theater). Offstage Jessii enjoys reading books with her cat.
