Grow your interests and toolbox as a performer by studying elements of theatre with actors, teaching artists and guests who frequent Civic and other local stages. Explore the fundamentals and magic of theatre while developing communication skills, confidence, imagination, self-discipline, and collaboration.

Growing Through Improv

Through collaborative activities, Students will explore the art of making theater up without a script. Students will create original characters and environments while building confidence and expanding imagination. Guests include Dahveed Bullis, Jake Foerg (Blue Door Theatre), Michael Glatzmaier (Blue Door Theatre), and Dave Honeycutt (Blue Door Theatre).

Through analysis and performance of excerpts from E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web, students will learn numerous character, vocal and physical development skills.

Civic Class Cancellation Policy:

Two weeks or more before the first day of class: fully refundable
Less than two weeks before the first day of class: credit on account for future class
Week of the first day of class: no credits or refunds available
