Preston Loomer (Director, Dramaturg, Sound Design) received his BA in Theatre from Whitworth University where he was awarded the Limelight Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theatre. His recent credits include Dramaturg for Julius Caesar, Lighting Designer for Topdog/Underdog, Malcom in Macbeth (all with Stage Left) and Guildenstern in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Spokane Shakespeare Society). By day, Preston is an English teacher. When not at the theatre or at school he is an avid reader of comic books, watcher of horror movies and a fan of supporting local art. He also enjoys spending his time with his wife Jess and puggle Doty.

Shakyla Garcia Davidson (Stage Manager) is back behind the scenes at Civic, recently performing as Mina Harker in Dracula here in the Studio Theatre. Recent backstage credits at Civic include stage manager for The 39 Steps, Murder on the Orient Express and The Play That Goes Wrong. Shakyla holds an AFA from Spokane Falls Community College and enjoys horror movies and playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Peter Rossing (Scenic Design) has designed sets for theater, opera, and dance in Portland and Austin and staging for corporate events in Europe and Asia. Recent designs for Civic have included Cats, Carousel, A Christmas Carol, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and Legally Blonde. Favorite past projects include A View from the Bridge for Portland Repertory Theatre, The Importance of Being Earnest for New Rose Theatre (Portland), On the Verge for Different Stages Co. in Austin, and A Comedy of Errors on Austin’s Zilker Park Stage.

Jamie L. Suter (Costume Design) holds a BA in Theater Design and Technical Production with concentrations in Costume Design and Directing from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, studying under Broadway professionals Gail Brassard, Liz Covey, and Bob Anton. Notable credits include Costume Design for The Wonder!: A Woman Keeps a Secret (T. Schreiber Studio), Assistant to the Costume Designer for Sweeney Todd (Avery Fisher Hall), Assistant Costume Designer for The Lucky Chance (Theresa Lang Theater), Director/Costume Designer for Seven Femmes (Rathskeller Studios), and Costume Designer for The Lost Cabaret (NYC Fringe Festival). Jamie joined the Civic staff in 2018, her first design on stage being Present Laughter in the Studio Theatre. She loves being part of the fun and frivolity of live theater and is incredibly happy to do that at her home away from home, Spokane Civic Theatre.

Mackenzie Willett (Assistant Costume Design) loves working behind the scenes at Civic as well as working as part of the Front of House Staff. Outside of theatre, Mackenzie spends all her time watching and playing soccer, spending time at church, and reading.

Bryan D. Durbin (Lighting Design) has a BA in theatre and is very excited to be back as Civic’s master electrician and lighting designer following the long hiatus. “I want to thank my family Heather, Evie, and Abby for all of their support.”

*Jacob Asher (Properties) is a professionally trained special effects artist and a graduate of the Tom Savini Special Effects College (2023). Primarily he works as a mask maker and has a big love for horror movies.

Theresa Craigmile (Backstage Crew) is happy to be returning to Civic! Favorite crew credits include Dracula, The 39 Steps and The Play That Goes Wrong. Theresa would love to thank their spouse for always going on theatre adventures with her.

Chloe Smith (Backstage Crew) has been working in the theater world since 2003. She has since worked with classical plays, musical theatre, opera, and children’s theater on and off the stage. She had designed and built over 30 sets, been prop master, stage makeup artist, costumer, back stage crew and pretty much every other position back stage she can get her hands on.
