Douglas Webster to Direct Les Miserables

Douglas Webster has been affiliated with Les Misérables since the National tour first arrived in Spokane in 1990.  He joined the Broadway company in 1993 and returned to lead productions in the role of Jean Valjean for the Phoenix Theater, Arkansas Repertory, the Broadway Rose Theater in Portland and the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theater.  He is the former Director of Opera for the University of Oregon and is currently the Artistic Director for the American Singer Music Theater training program in Colorado. He has led classes in Spokane, Vancouver and Coeur d'Alene for Christian Youth Theater.  He and his wife, cellist Elizabeth Byrd make their home in Portland, Oregon and South Park, Colorado.
