Beth Oltman (Narrator) is a theater enthusiast and veteran elementary school teacher and is delighted to be returning to Ignite’s readers theater after making her debut as Leanne in Puffs. She’s grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside this incredible cast and crew.

Karen Brathovde (Gina) is a retired high school Theatre and English teacher. Her favorite roles include Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone, Helene Berman in Significant Other and Jane in Bloody Murder. Directing credits include See How They Run, Blithe Spirit, and for the Playwrights’ Forum Festival. She serves as Secretary on Civic’s Board of Directors. Thanks to Ignite! and Spokane Civic Theatre for their partnership of Booklight Readers Theater and, of course, to her husband, Barry.

David Kappus (Ray) has appeared on stages and in pits for many productions. Favorite experiences: All Is Calm (Ensemble), Harvey (Elwood), Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye and Lazar Wolf), and percussion for Rent, Footloose, and Seussical the Musical. David and his wife Theresa produced a melodrama for Reardan’s Mule Days for 17 years. LYTB, T2!

Fenris Robinson (Jack) Geezers is Fenris’s second production with Spokane Civic Theatre. Previously you might have seen him during the Playwrights’ Forum Festival in Intro to Greek Theater.  He also spends his days at Civic as one of their scenic carpenters. Fenris is very thankful to the director, Barry, for providing him with this opportunity.

Pam Kingsley (Emily) was last seen on the Studio stage as Dottie in Good People (Civic). Pam’s own plays have been produced by theatres internationally and throughout the U.S. Her one act plays have been selected by over fifty theatre festivals. Pam has also had six plays produced in Civic’s Bryan Harnetiaux Playwrights’ Forum Festivals. Mother’s Day (2019), Boxes (2022), and A. Lee (2025) each won the Audience Choice Award in their respective festival year.

William Marlowe (Neil) Emeritus retired from SFCC in 2019 where he served at Director of Drama for 18 years and was awarded the Exceptional Teacher Award. He received the Arts In Education Award in 2006. At Civic he has directed and acted in numerous productions and recently played Marley in A Christmas Carol and Assistant Directed Romeo & Juliet.

Jennifer Simmons (Kate) has performed on stage in Puffs, Playwrights’ Forum Festival, The Great Gatsby, Lake Town, Minimum Wage, Hecuba, Masterpiece Monologues, A Place to Call Home, Burnt by the Sun, and more. She is an Actor on Film and TV, with additional credits as an Extras Casting Director and Production Assistant.

Deborah Brooks (Jenny) A performing artist, painter and writer; Spokane stage credits include Stage Left’s Tiny Musical and Fast and Furious Festivals, Lilac City Dinner Theatre’s Women Playing Hamlet, Spokane Civic Theatre’s It’s A Wonderful Life and Playwrights’ Forum Festivals. Delighted to help bring this warm and very human story to life!

Cayla Hoke (Young Kate) This is Cayla’s third production with Civic after being in An Enemy of the People and Puffs. Her favorite shows include Radium Girls at Gonzaga Prep and Almost, Maine at TAC at the Lake. She would like to thank her friends for keeping her (somewhat) sane during this and every other show!

Mark Hodgson (Young Neil) This is Mark’s third play at Spokane Civic Theatre in the last year. You may have seen him in A Christmas Carol last winter, or during the Playwrights’ Forum Festival in Intro to Greek Theater. Mark is 53 years old, and thrilled to be cast as “young Neil.”

Charlie Ladd (Young Ray) is excited to be back on stage once again – as well as on Spokane Civic Theatre’s stage for the first time! He recently graduated from EWU with a BA in theatre where he got experience in all aspects of the stage from acting and directing to stage management. He hopes you enjoy the show and has had a blast working with the cast and crew of Geezers!
