In Spokane Civic Theatre breaking news, Sister Mary Hubert took a tumble down the rectory stairs so the Little Sisters of Hoboken can't make their previously announced trip to Las Vegas scheduled for this February. Fortunately, their "brothers" have graciously stepped in to take over for her and the other ladies in the now scheduled, Nunsense A-Men!
"I am so bummed our trip to Vegas is off. That darn fall really put a damper on things." says Sister Mary Hubert (Kathie Doyle-Lipe), "I'm sure the boys will be fabulous and I'm thankful they stepped up. Break a Leg, but not literally like I did. It's no fun!"
Nunsense A-Men! is the original Nunsense script, but instead of the nuns being played by women, this touching comedy is played by some of your favorite area male actors including Mark Pleasant and Patrick McHenry-Kroetch. Troy Nickerson, who has directed many varieties of Nunsense productions, is delighted to bring you a fall-on-the-floor hilarious evening full of fun and free of "campiness".
The Samuel French, Inc webpage for the show describes the production this way: Think of it as "Mrs. Doubtfire enters the Convent." … This show is, to quote a critic, "no drag."
Nunsense A-Men! hits the Spokane Civic Theatre Main Stage February 27 – March 22, 2015. Tickets are available now through the Spokane Civic Theatre box office, or through TicketsWest. Nunsense A-Men! will be replacing Nunsensations! in Civic's 2014-15 Season line-up. We project tickets for this one will be hot, hot, hot!
