Storytelling, being the interactive art of melding actions, culture and words, is a core element of the performing arts. Whether it is a comedy, tragedy, song, or dance, actors guide audiences through discovering narratives with their performance. This year, Spokane Civic Theatre Academy’s focus is to offer safe and inclusive opportunities to question what it means to be a storyteller – exploring a variety of methods and styles via classes, productions and workshops.
Fairy tales – we all know them but not necessarily the ingredients to create them. Winter classes delve into the many fascinating facets of fairy tales as a unique and enduring storytelling format – such as magic, mythical conflict, humor, and character tropes.
Winter classes are six weeks and run January 31 – March 10, 2022.
Financial assistance available for all classes, productions and workshops.
Refunds accepted until January 24
January 25 – February 1, dropped classes will receive future class credit
